GALEX, Galaxy Evolution Explorer

Under contract to the Astrophysics Department at Caltech, I designed the mechanical components, fabricated, assembled and aligned a slit relay system for the GALEX. Telescope. The optical design for the relay was done in Z-max and was provided by LAS and Caltech. This was a UV clean system operating at high vacuum, fed by an Acton monochromator.  The system also included three optical elements, one of them moving, and a PMT to monitor source strength.
